Nominees
Each award category will include up to 3-4 nominees from each state, resulting in a total of up to 6-8 nominees per category. Nominee selection for all award categories is conducted exclusively by the 229 Live Podcast staff, whose decisions regarding nominations are final.
Awards Panel
The awards selection process will be overseen by a distinguished panel of nine judges dedicated to ensuring that each award is presented to the most deserving artist. Every award category will be evaluated independently, and all nominees will undergo a thorough review and vetting process before being considered for a Father of Soul Award (FOSA).
The judging panel will include three judges from each participating state, Georgia and Florida, representing a diverse group of industry professionals, including DJs, radio personalities, and members of the 229 Live Podcast team.
In the event of a tie vote, the final decision will be made by the CEO of FOSA.
This structured evaluation process is designed to uphold the integrity, credibility, and prestige of the awards program, ensuring that recognition is awarded fairly and that the most deserving nominees receive honors at the Father of Soul Awards Show: A Music and Community Alliance Gala.
Community Awards
A total of 10 Community Awards will be presented during the event. As the Music and Community Alliance Gala, we recognize the strong connection between music and community engagement, and we believe that both deserve to be celebrated.
Unlike the music award categories, which are determined through a formal judging process, the Community Awards will be decided through public voting. This approach allows community members, supporters, and the networks built by each nominee to actively participate in the selection process by casting votes for the individuals and organizations they believe have made the greatest impact.
Through community participation, these awards honor those whose dedication, service, and influence have positively affected the communities they serve.

Exclusive Invitation: Red Carpet Premiere & VIP Reception
We are thrilled to invite our VIP guests to our exclusive Red Carp Premiere. As a valued nominee, performer, sponsor, or special guest, your presence is requested to help us celebrate this spectacular occasion.
Upon arrival, at 2pm, enjoy a pre-function reception featuring a curated selection of fine wine, champagne, and hor d'oeuvres. Professional photographers wlll be stationed along the red carpet. Please arrive photo and interview ready.
To maintain and intimate setting, plus-one accommodations are strictly reserved for award nominees only, covering both the red carpet and the main show.
Please arrive in your formal attire (Black tie/Formal Eevening Wear)

The inaugural Father of Soul Awards (FOSA) was established to create a one-of-a-kind platform that celebrates excellence in both music and community service. Awards will be presented across 18 music categories and 10 community categories, honoring some of the most talented, hardworking, and deserving individuals in their respective fields. FOSA Award
The vision for the Father of Soul Awards (FOSA) signature trophy was conceived by Travis Williams, Founder of 229 Live Podcast, and is being expertly crafted by a local custom awards design team. These exclusive crystal awards have been specially commissioned for the inaugural 2027 Father of Soul Awards and cannot be found anywhere else.
Inspired by Albany’s legendary musical icon, Ray Charles, each award features a stunning crystal piano design that pays tribute to his enduring legacy and impact on the music industry. Weighing approximately four pounds, these handcrafted awards represent excellence, prestige, and artistic innovation.
As a one-of-a-kind creation, the FOSA award embodies the spirit of recognition and achievement that our organization stands for. We take great pride in presenting these exceptional crystal awards to our nominees, honorees, and award recipients during our first annual Father of Soul Awards ceremony in 2027.
